Unmuted: Owning and Sharing Our Story
Speakers: Dr. Mari Ann Callais (Theta Phi Alpha) and Scott Fussell (Beta Theta Pi)
The fraternity and sorority experience has shaped generations of leaders, yet many of our most powerful stories often go untold. Unmuted: Owning and Sharing Our Story draws from the impactful conversations shared on the Leaders, Letters, and Legacy podcast, which showcases the extraordinary impact of fraternity and sorority life. Through the wisdom of industry legends, we’ll explore the lessons learned through the show, uncover a few more in real-time, and remind each other exactly why we do the work we do. Join us as we amplify our story and elevate the conversation.
Beyond Team Player: Navigating the Future as a Value Creator
Speaker: Jennifer Maxson
It is no longer enough to be a high performing team that focuses on results. Due to the current state of environment, technological advancements, remote work and changing organizational structures, we need a Value Creation approach. Teams must be ready to meet the future needs of others, their organization, collegiate and alumni members, and the world. Redefine how you partner and create value with your stakeholders. Identify what it takes to be a team player. Elevate your teams by moving from High Performance to Value Creation, for long term impact.
Campus Relationships in the Age of AI: Exploring New Risks and Opportunities
Speaker: Sloan Thompson
Join us as we examine the significant influence of artificial intelligence on students' personal lives. Our speaker will analyze the growing use of AI-driven chatbots in romantic and sexual relationships, their integration into dating apps and social media platforms, and their expanding role in mental health support. We will evaluate both the immediate and long-term effects of these technologies on student isolation, mental health, and social development. The discussion will also address potential risks associated with chatbot applications, such as the normalization of sexual and gender-based violence, the reinforcement of harmful biases, the development of addictive behaviors and emotional dependency, and potential privacy violations. Lastly, we will explore how we can update existing models of healthy sex and relationships education to address the new reality of AI on campus.
