Introducing the new FCA Brand

Introducing the new FCA Brand

As part of FCA’s Centennial Celebration, we sought ways to honor FCA’s past and look to the future. We found a way to accomplish this goal in true communication style by taking a look at our brand.

FCA members completed a survey to help us gauge where our current brand stood and find ways to strengthen FCA’s visual presence. We took the feedback and combined it with the talent and knowledge of our volunteer graphics designers.

We are so very proud to announce the new FCA brand, which officially launched at the Closing Business Meeting at the Annual Conference in Indianapolis.

Tradition takes a new form in this logo mark. We chose to focus on the action oriented part of our existing imagery - the nib of the quill. The nib is actually the part of a writing utensil that comes in contact with the paper, much like how we - as communicators, are the people who often come in contact with our members, facilitating the bridge between the organization and its many audiences.

The quill is our link to the past and the original intention of what was the College Fraternity Editors Association. The tip of the quill is pointing up, aiming toward the heights we can achieve together.

The speech bubble represents what we all do — the art of communicating, whether you’re an editor, graphic designer, videographer, social media specialist, or let’s be real, a combination of any (or sometimes all) of those.

Our hope is that every member can see themselves in this new brand mark. That we can continue to represent a united FCA community. While still proudly remembering where this organization came from 100 years ago.

More brand education is in the works, and you’ll see FCA deploy these new assets. We’re excited to usher in a new era, and hope you are, too.

Finally, we’d like to thank the FCA Marketing Committee for its work on this project. The new logo and assets were designed by this group of volunteers.
