What's your favorite thing about serving FCA?
I enjoy being able to help provide opportunities to develop communications professionals. As I mentioned many times during my term as FCA President, a quote from Danny Thomas, “Those who work for the good are as those who do the good.” Our work has an immeasurable impact on our organizations and the causes we support. The stronger we are as communicators, the stronger the fraternal movement is.
Which Annual Conference location has been your favorite and why?
Louisville was my favorite location. The professional development and networking were fantastic at that conference.
Who is your professional mentor or role model? What's the most valuable thing you've learned from him or her?
I have been lucky in my career to find many role models, gleaning nuggets from each. My earliest professional role model was my father. My father taught me at a young age that as a leader needs to be willing to be willing to roll up your sleeves and do the work alongside the team. He also taught me to put your head down and do the work, to find inefficiencies and approach them with a solution in mind.
What is your dream job (please exclude your current role)?
I started my college career wanting you go into 3-D animation and work for Pixar. I also pursued a dream of running a consulting company for four years before joining the TKE Professional Staff.
What's your favorite personality quiz and which type are you?
I am an Enneagram 3, ENFJ and Gryffindor. My wife (deceased, but also a Gryffindor) and I had a Slytherin. The Enneagram speaks most directly to me.
